Mangaluru, Jul 2: Due to heavy monsoon, potholes have emerged on highways, posing a danger to motorists and vehicles, causing various accidents.
The public must suffer traveling on pothole-filled roads while the concerned authorities seem to be mute spectators, taking no preventive measures to fill the potholes before the monsoon arrives and prevent accidents.
The concerned authorities wait for accidents to occur so that they can find a reason to fill the potholes.
It may be recalled that a motorist protested in Surathkal after he lost his balance on his two-wheeler due to a pothole.
Potholes have emerged at KPT Circle, posing a danger to vehicular movement. Traffic policeman Eshwar Swamy showed a kind gesture and was seen fixing a pothole at KPT Circle.
Eshwar Swamy, who works at the east traffic police station, along with contributions from traffic staff and auto-rickshaw drivers, managed to fix the pothole.
Traffic policemen deployed at the circle witness motorists on two-wheelers losing balance after they fall into potholes, which pose a danger and also create traffic issues.
As the concerned authorities fail to act swiftly, traffic policemen, with no other option left, decide to fix the potholes on their own to ease traffic and protect motorists.
While many appreciated the concern and gesture shown by the policeman to fix the pothole, netizens questioned whether it is the duty of traffic policemen to fix the potholes or the duty of the concerned authorities to fix the potholes before accidents occur.
