Udupi MLA advocates for Rs 5 lac compensation for homes severely damaged by calamity

Udupi, Jul 5: MLA Yashpal Suvarna has called for immediate compensation of Rs 5 lac for households severely affected by recent heavy winds and rainfall in Kurpadi of Karje gram panchayat.

During a visit to the affected areas, Yashpal Suvarna, accompanied by other officials, instructed the revenue department to promptly report the damage to houses and agricultural crops and to recommend the maximum compensation. He highlighted the importance of increasing the compensation amount, stating, “Previously, the state government provided Rs 5 lac compensation, but this has been reduced to Rs 1.50 lac. The government should increase this amount to Rs 5 lac, and in case of emergencies, Rs 25,000 should be distributed on the spot.”

He commended the swift action taken by officials from the revenue, forest fire, MESCOM, and police departments, as well as local association members, who worked overnight to assist in the relief operations following his instructions.

Karje gram panchayat president, Sowmay, Village accountant, Raviraj, panchayat development officer, Rajeev Kulal, BJP Mandal President, Naveen Putran, Secretary, party leaders, Adarsh Shetty Kenjuru, Vinuth Shetty, Sudhakara Suvarna, Raghu Naik, Upendra, Asha, Akshay, Manikanta and others were present.

    During the BJP tenure in Karnataka, they haven't issued compensations to the victims of flood as relief. The Brhasta Jumla Paapies have only issued promises and never met the promises. Now they are speaking big big things.
