Udupi, Jul 5: Udupi district commissioner Dr Vidyakumari has declared a holiday for the schools and PUC colleges in the entire district.

Earlier in the day, holiday was declared for the schools and PUC colleges of Brahmavar and Kundapur taluks only.

Many parents from other taluks had expressed concerns over this disparity in declaring precautionary holiday for the students.

Other than the above mentioned institutions, engineering, diploma, ITI and post graduate colleges will operate as usual.

Udupi, Jul 5: The schools and PUC colleges in Kundapur and Brahmavar taluks will continue to reamin closed on Saturday, July 6 due to incessant rainfall.

Holiday was declared for the schools and PU colleges in these taluks on July 5 as well as precautionary measure for the safety of the students.

All Anganwadi centers, primary schools, high schools, and PU colleges in Kundapur and Brahmavar taluks will remain closed.

However, engineering colleges, diploma colleges, ITIs, and postgraduate courses will operate as usual.
