Red alert: Schools, PU colleges to remain closed in DK on Jul 6

Mangaluru, Jul 6: Due to heavy rainfall and the resultant flooding in Dakshina Kannada (DK) district, a red alert has been declared.

In light of this, the district administration has announced a holiday on Saturday, July 6 for Anganwadi centers, primary,  high schools and pre-university colleges.

As a precautionary measure, the holiday has been declared for primary, high schools and PU colleges only, and not for degree colleges and above, informed an official release by deputy commissioner Mullai Muhilan.

    For young kids upto 8th class this could be somehow justified; but not for grown up children and PUC students; another day to have full-to-full fun n frolic in malls with smart phones for company!
