Mangaluru, Jul 6: Kasturba Medical College, Manipal College of Dental Science, KMC Hospital Attavar, and Durga Sanjeevani Manipal Hospital organized a felicitation ceremony for the meritorious children of their employees on Saturday, July 6 at the Marena Sports Complex, Attavar.

The chief guest of the occasion, Capt Brijesh Chowta, MP of Dakshina Kannada, expressed his enthusiasm for engaging with students. "I generally engage in events where I get opportunities to meet students. I understand their struggles, having been a student myself, and I fully support them. Today's event showcases KMC Institute's care for the children of their staff. It’s easy to enter politics, but difficult to exit. I thank God for giving me this opportunity. I joined politics by chance in 2013 when Narendra Modi was inspiring youth to build a great nation. India has a rich and strong civilization and culture, and KMC's initiative to honour these meritorious children is commendable. In our country, everyone is equal, and students play a significant role in nation-building. Being around high-achieving students inspires me to continue working hard," said Capt Chowta.

Dr B Unnikrishnan, dean of KMC, welcomed the gathering.

On this occasion, Capt Brijesh Chowta honoured the students for securing outstanding marks.

Present at the event were Dr Dilip G. Nayak, pro vice chancellor of MAHE, Mangaluru campus; Dr Anand Venugopal, chief operating officer of MAHE Teaching Hospitals; Dr Ashita Uppoor, dean of Manipal College of Dental Science, Mangaluru; Dr John T Ramapuram, medical superintendent of KMC Hospital Attavar; Saghir Siddiqui, regional COO of KMC Hospital, Mangaluru; Dr Shivananda Prabhu, in-charge of Durga Sanjeevani Manipal Hospital, Kateel, and other dignitaries.
