Byndoor, Jul 13: “The construction of a footbridge using innovative technology has fulfilled a long-standing dream for the residents of rural areas,” MLA Gururaj Gantihole.
As part of the Prosperous Byndoor initiative, with the cooperation of the Dr R Arunachalam Charitable Trust from Bengaluru, a state-of-the-art footbridge using chassis of old buses and lorries, was inaugurated. This bridge connects Yedamogge's Rampayyajaddu and Kumtiberu, as well as Kabbinahole-Gudimane in Thombattu. Speaking at the event, Gantihole expressed his pride in the achievement.
"It was evident that building a footbridge through government systems was impossible. However, leaving the problem unsolved was not an option. Anudeep Hegde and I have worked to connect donors in the manner of a bridge, but it is the donors, inspired by God, who have made this possible. The fact that the Arunachalam Trust, based in distant Bangalore, considers the rural areas of our Byndoor constituency shows how indebted we are to such an organization," he said. He also thanked the trust and local residents for their efforts in constructing the well-equipped footbridge.
Dr R Arunachalam Charitable Trust trustee and donor, Dr Ramesh Arun, who was a special guest at the event, shared his thoughts. "When the MLA explained the necessity of footbridges in Byndoor, we were moved by the people's plight. Following my father's advice, we visited the location, understood the challenges, and promised to help build the footbridge. The successful completion of this project demonstrates the importance of our commitment and the local people's willpower. MLA Gururaj Gantihole's dedication and involvement were unprecedented, and it is because of his efforts that this footbridge has been built. I am grateful to him and his team for providing us with the opportunity to serve the rural population," he said.
