Puttur, Jul 22: The body of a young man who parked his scooter on the Gauri rivulet bridge near Sarvey in the taluk was found in the rivulet on Sunday.

The deceased is identified as Sanmit T (21), son of Chandra Gowda and resident of Tekkittadi in Kudmaru village. His body was discovered a short distance from the bridge.

When Sanmit did not return home by late Friday night, his father, Chandra Gowda, along with a neighbor, began searching for him. They found his scooter, mobile phone, wallet, helmet, and tiffin box near the Gauri rivulet bridge. Despite a search conducted by fire service personnel on Saturday, they were unable to locate his body.

The search continued on Sunday, with NDRF also joining the efforts. However, by that time, the body had been found floating near the bridge. The remains were taken to Puttur government hospital for a post-mortem examination.
