Mangaluru: Valuable polypropylene bags discovered on Tannirbhavi beach

Mangaluru, Jul 24: A significant discovery was made on Tannirbhavi beach when 50 bags of polypropylene, a valuable petrochemical product, were found scattered along the shoreline on Tuesday July 23.

Each of these bags, weighing 25 kg, is estimated to be worth Rs 2,500, bringing the total value of the found goods to around Rs 1.25 lac. The bags were identified as belonging to a private company after a thorough examination.

Padmanabha Panicker, who oversees the maintenance of the beach, reported the find to the Panambur police.

Polypropylene is widely used in the production of plastics and pharmaceuticals, making this discovery notable not only for its monetary value but also for its industrial significance.
