'Konkani Saanz' musical extravaganza by MKW set to enchant Muscat at Al Falaj Hotel on Aug 9

Muscat, Aug 1: The Mangalorean Konkani Wing (MKW), a prominent community wing under the Indian Social Club, has consistently been synonymous with successful events in Muscat. This time, MKW is poised to host an unparalleled event, 'Konkani Saanz 2024' on August 9 at The Grand Hall at Al Falaj Hotel, Ruwi, Muscat, from 5 PM onwards. The event promises to bring together top singers, musicians, comedians, stage artists, and renowned comperes, from various parts of the world for a night to remember.

The musical team & performers

The musical ensemble, Bandscape, known for its exceptional talent, will lead the live performances. This band, led by Darrel Mascarenhas, Patson Pereira, Prashanth Sequeira, and Floid Pereira, is celebrated for its dynamic and engaging performances. The band is coordinated by Ashith Pinto. Joining them will be M A D (Melwyn Antony D’Souza), a renowned singer from the UAE, and Akshada Talaulikar from Goa, whose enchanting voices are sure to captivate the audience. Additionally, the event will feature the comedic brilliance of star artistes Peter (Pedru) Fernandes, Walter D’Souza, Lancy Lobo, Praveen Serra, and many others, delivering side-splitting comedy skits.

The comperes

The evening's proceedings will be expertly guided by Roshan D’Silva, affectionately known as Vamanjoor’s Halwa, a well-known personality from Mangaluru and Dubai. He will be joined by Dilip Correa, a prominent figure in Muscat’s community, ensuring the event runs smoothly and entertainingly.

The Executive Committee

Ajith Walder, the convener of MKW, is enthusiastic about the success of this event, marking a high point in MKW's activities for the term 2023-24. Under his leadership, and with the support of his dedicated team, MKW has carried out numerous philanthropic initiatives. The Executive Committee includes Loveline Rego (co- convener), Vijai D’Cunha (treasurer), Adolf D’Souza (joint treasurer), Silvia Fernandes (lady coordinator), Lancy Lobo (cultural secretary), Ajith D’Costa (sports secretary), Peter Fernandes (entertainment secretary), and Olivia Meera Saldhana (children wings secretary). Their collective experience and social connections have significantly benefited the community over the past year and a half.

Event details

The event will be attended by numerous well-known personalities from the Gulf region and Mangaluru, alongside the vibrant Mangalorean community in Muscat, ensuring an evening filled with fun and entertainment.

Entry pass information

Entry passes are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. They can be obtained from notable locations such as South Express Restaurant in Ghala, Pinto’s Chinese Food in Darsait, Meera’s Boutique Salon in Wadikabir, or directly from any MKW Executive Committee member.
