Puttur: DK District Level Swimming Championship 2024-25 held

Puttur, Aug 3: St Philomena PU College, Puttur, in association with the PU Educational Board, Dakshina Kannada, hosted the District Level Swimming Championship at Dr Shivrama Karanth Balavana Swimming Pool, Puttur, on August 2.

The inaugural programme began with the lighting of the lamp by dignitaries. The president, Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, correspondent, Mai De Deus Educational Institutions, emphasized the importance of utilizing the opportunities to shape one's personality. He encouraged students to fulfil the dreams of their parents' and advised swimmers to focus on their happiness rather than worrying about the results.

The guest of honour, Dr Shriprakash B, vice president, PTA, addressed the gathering and extended his best wishes to the students participating in the swimming competition. He expressed his hope that the journey towards achievement, which began at Balavana's swimming pool, would reach international heights.

Prathima Hegde, president, alumni association and Gerald D'Costa, vice-president, Puttur parish were present on the occasion.

The physical educational directors, Elias Pinto and Rajesh Mooliya, St Philomena PU College, Puttur were in charge of conducting the competition.

Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, principal, St Philomena PU College, Puttur welcomed the gathering. Dr Asha Savithri P department of Hindi compered and proposed vote of thanks.
