Bantwal, Aug 6: Thieves broke into a house by breaking the front door and stole gold jewellery and cash while the family was visiting relatives.

The incident took place in Agari, Kolnad village, Bantwal taluk, at the residence of Jagannath. Jagannath was abroad for work, and his wife Vijaya Jagannath and their two children were staying at the house.

Vijaya, along with her children, had gone to her parental home in Panchody, Ishwaramangala. When they returned on August 4, they discovered the theft.

It was found that the thieves had broken the front door lock with some tool to gain entry. Upon checking inside the house, they discovered that the thieves had opened the iron cupboard in the bedroom and broke its locker using some tool, stealing a total of 34 grams of gold and Rs 6,000 in cash. Vijaya Jagannath reported the theft to the Vittal police station. Additionally, it was reported that a pet dog was also missing, and more details are awaited.

The total value of the stolen items is estimated at Rs 1,42,000, and a case has been registered at the Vittal police station. The Vittal police visited the site, collected information, and called in the dog squad for further investigation.

    It is very sad to hear that too many reports of robbery happening in MANGALORE CITY .First of all we should blame the LAW becos the moment these robbers are caught they brought to the court then released on BAIL. THESE THING GOING ON N ON.THESE ROBBERS SHOULD BE GIVEN ATLEAST 10 YRS PRISON SENTENCE PUNISHMENT.ALL ALL ARE IN GLOVES . SHAME SHAME WAKE UP.
