Kundapur, Aug 25: A tragic incident occurred in Kundapur taluk on Sunday, August 25, in the evening when a powerful storm led to a tree falling and killing a woman and her cattle. The accident took place near the Kenchanoor water tank.

The deceased, Sujatha Achari (53), was the wife of Annappaiah Achari, a resident of Mailari in Kenchanoor village. The storm also resulted in the death of their cattle.

Sujatha Achari had tethered the cow by the roadside near their home for grazing. Amidst the severe wind and rain, she went to retrieve the cow around 5:30 pm when a tree uprooted by the storm fell on them. The cow died on the spot, and Sujata Achari sustained fatal injuries.

She was rushed to a private hospital in Kundapur, where she was pronounced dead by doctors.

Annappaiah Achari, who works as a labourer, is left to mourn his wife along with their three sons and a daughter.

A case has been filed with the Kundapura Rural Police Station.

Very tragic.Woman should have thought bit better when going out in storm about her safety first ,and cow later .Sure cows security is also important. As a better thinker human must act better.May her soul rest in peace.SO much loss to the family.Heartfelt sympathy to her family. One never knows when comes the end to us and which way and hour.
