Mangaluru, Sep 11: In an inspiring display of bravery, a young girl named Vaibhavi rescued her mother after she was struck by an auto-rickshaw while crossing the road in Kinnigoli. The quick-thinking Vaibhavi immediately rushed to her mother’s aid, pulling her to safety.
Recognizing her courageous actions, city police commissioner Anupam Agarwal invited Vaibhavi and her father to his office on September 10 to honour her. Vaibhavi, a 7th-grade student, was felicitated with a shawl and a garland by the commissioner, who commended her quick response and presence of mind. He described her bravery as an example for others and highlighted the importance of nurturing such awareness in children.
The event was attended by DCPs Siddarth Goyal and Dinesh Kumar BP, ACP (Traffic) Najma Farooqi, and police inspectors Mohammed Shareef and Hulugappa. Meanwhile, Vaibhavi’s mother Chethana (35), a resident of Rajaratnapura, who sustained injuries in the accident, is currently receiving treatment at Suratkal hospital.
