Mangaluru, Oct 9: The virtual international dental education conference 2.0 was held on the virtual platform by the Yenepoya Dental Education unit in association with Yenepoya Centre for faculty development on October 8. The welcome address was given by Dr Vidya Bhat, organizing secretary VIDYEN 2.0.
The chief guest of the programme, president, dental council of India Dr Dibyendu Mazumdar highlighted the need for reforms in dentistry and said he had initiated the same and has done the alignment keeping in mind the New Education Policy 2020. Also praised the Yenepoya Dental College as one of the best colleges in India and also praised the efforts of the Yenepoya Dental Education unit in doing such conferences and teacher training programme.
Guest of honor pro vice chancellor Dr B H Sripathi Rao addressed the online attendees and has said we need to balance between both virtual & traditional learning. The dean faculty of Dentistry Dr Sham S Bhat highlighted the initiatives taken by the Yenepoya Dental Education unit and has said the Yenepoya Dental College has started the preparation for the same and is ready to conduct such programmes elsewhere.
The vice principal Dr Hasan M Sarfaraz spoke and said it is the need of the hour to change with the revolution of digital technologies. Dr Laxminkanth Chatra, principal, Yenepoya Dental College delivered the presidential address and stressed the need of the hour to conduct the faculty development programmes and congratulated the organizing secretary Dr Imran Pasha M for his efforts in conducting these programmes and also the entire unit for the support.
Dr Vinita Boloor, Co-ordinator, YDEU delivered the vote of thanks. The master of ceremony for the programme were Dr Umme Amarah, Dr Pramada and Dr Anu Babu members of the Yenepoya Dental Education unit.
