Padua College hosts national conference on Skill Development for Sustainable Employability

Mangaluru, Oct 30: The IQAC and Research Promotion Committee of Padua College of Commerce and Management, Nanthur, Mangaluru, in association with Mangalore University Commerce Teachers Association (MUCTA), organized a national conference, Padua Scintilla, on "Developing Skills for a Sustainable Future - Enhancing Employability" on October 29 at the college premises.

The event saw 115 participants.

The inauguration program commenced at 9:30 am in the Padua Auditorium. presiding over the event was correspondent Fr Walter D'Souza, while the chief guest, Rev Dr Ivan Dsouza, head of the Chair in Christianity at Mangalore University, shared insights on the critical role of skill development for employability.

Keynote speaker Dr Surfraz J Hasim, psychologist, mind trainer, and principal of PA First Grade College, emphasized the importance of understanding the subconscious mind, positivity, and forgiveness.

 

Other dignitaries present included principal Fr Arun Wilson Lobo, vice principal and head of commerce Prof Roshan Santhumayor, MUCTA secretary Dr Udaya Shetty K, Research Promotion Committee coordinator Prof Thanuja, and IQAC coordinator Jesfrida Menezes.

The conference featured two technical sessions: Dexterity Design Amongst Knowledge Workers, led by Dr Preethi Keerthi D'Souza, chairperson and associate professor of the Department of Commerce at Mangalore University, and Skills in Education: Indian Spiritual Perspectives, headed by Dr Henry D’Almeida SJ, professor of philosophy at Jnana Deepa University, Pune.

The valedictory session took place at 3:30 pm, with Vinod D'Souza, vice president of Bendur Church and representative from AJIET Mangaluru, serving as the chief guest. The program concluded at 4:30 pm.
