Woman alleges sexual harassment by bicycle rider while vlogging live in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Nov 6 (IANS): An incident of a woman being allegedly sexually harassed by a bicycle rider while live vlogging was reported in an upscale BTM Layout in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

The victim said that she raised an alarm and thrashed the accused. The incident had taken place on Monday night and the victim released a video message of the incident on Wednesday.

She added that the people who gathered around demanded proof of harassment from her.

The victim, a private company employee, claimed that while she was walking down the street, a boy on a bicycle approached her, greeted her with a "hi" and then inappropriately touched her before quickly fleeing the scene.

In her video, she highlights the distressing incident as a reflection of the lack of safety for women on the streets of Bengaluru. The video shows the boy laying hands on the chest of the victim.

“In my entire life never have I encountered such an issue. I am feeling really bad thinking about how such a thing could happen to me. The mark of the finger of the child who did the act is also visible on the top. I thrashed him after dragging him into the road,” says the victim in a video message.

She added that the accused was moving on a bicycle and turned after seeing her.

“He teased me first saying hi and suddenly he laid his hands on my chest and went away. I was wondering what was happening. I was feeling helpless. The people didn’t support me and asked me to spare the accused as he is a child. Some people supported me and thrashed him. I am not feeling safe,” said the victim.

Such kids go on into serious crime when they grow up, if not taught a propper lesson now. I can't believe some of the stupid comments above. In a mega city like bangalore, questions such as what was she doing outside at night makes no sense. Instead you should have asked, what were the parents of a 10year old doing when he goes around at night molesting ladies..

Her name is Neha Biswal and she is from Odisha. I have seen her videos on Instagram and this particular video has been deleted now from her feed. Although what the boy did was wrong, she has videos clicking pics and accepting gifts from strangers and her so called 'fans' who wait for her or stalk her at early morning hour when she gets ready to go to work. She does not object to these things or keep a distance. However she should be careful with what she posts online and how she presents herself and reveals her private space. I have seen her videos crying and missing her parents but there isn't even one video having a picture or video clips of her parents back home. Can term her a young drama queen who is trying to be a cool millennial and is also trying to enjoy the fame and attention from the subscribers, but there is a downside to everything and she should be careful.

I am waiting for the day when we woman dont have to worry if it is day or night, if we are fully clothed or in normal clothing, if alone or with others, when we can be ourselves and do things what we want, not justify our actions, without worrying about what others have to say.

Private employees have no time to maintain their house. They dont have time even to wash their clothes and keep them ironed and tidy. So almost everyone depends on at least 2 or 3 domestic helpers for their house work. We Cannot reach home on time because of traffic in the evening. How come this lady had time to do vlogging ? She even puts up on social media as to what has happened to her explaining openly along with her photo instead of keeping quiet and bring the matter to the police ?

Very clearly law and order has taken a back seat and morality is non existent. Laws are not going to change people set to exploit all over the world, it's good nowhere. Individuals have to safe guard and prevent and take every precaution like accidents and everything else. There is peak corruption top to bottom....

women need to be careful in third world countries...the mentality of men is still far from being liberal...so just be careful and dont venture out in night...this may sound that I am not liberal..but it is not so...be a Roman when you are in Rome...with highly corrupted politicians, police and bureaucrats you cannot expect any safety and security in countries like India...probably Mumbai is an exception...
