Udupi, Nov 29: The Poornaprajna Institute of Management (PIM) in Udupi hosted the ‘Poorna Udyoga Mela 2024’, a significant job fair organised by its Training and Placement Cell, Poornakash, on November 23.
The event was conducted in collaboration with the Ceyone Foundation, Udupi IT Dealers Association, Udupi Chamber of Commerce, and the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation. This initiative successfully connected over 1,000 job seekers with more than 40 companies from diverse sectors, marking it as one of the region's most impactful employment fairs.
The inauguration was graced by Shamili G Shankar, managing director of G S Shamili Infrastructure Private Limited Udupi and a distinguished alumna of PIM, who in her address, highlighted the importance of such platforms in empowering local talent and driving economic development.
The event was presided over by Dr P S Aithal, director of PIM, who expressed pride in the institution’s role in facilitating employment opportunities and emphasised the value of partnerships with organisations like the Ceyone Foundation.
The ceremony featured a prayer session led by MBA students Nandini and Shrinidhi.
The fair attracted a diverse group of candidates, including recent graduates and experienced professionals, seeking roles in IT, manufacturing, retail, finance, healthcare, education, and more.
Recruiters commended the candidate’s preparedness and enthusiasm, noting the event’s excellent coordination and infrastructure.
The Poorna Udyoga Mela 2024 not only addressed regional unemployment by connecting skilled individuals with employers but also set a benchmark for future job fairs aimed at empowering youth and promoting economic growth.

Dignitaries present included Avinash and Pavan from the Ceyone Foundation, Shivanand M Bhandarkar, placement coordinator at PIM, and the teaching and non-teaching staff of the institute.
