Udupi: ‘Aasare’ counselling cell of SMVITM organises visit to Asha Nilaya

Udupi, Dec 2: The Counseling Cell of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Asare, organised a visit to Asha Nilaya, a residential school and vocational rehabilitation centre for children with special needs, located in Udupi. The first-year students of section A had the opportunity to interact with the children at the centre, fostering a sense of empathy and connection.

During the visit, the students entertained the children by performing lively dances, singing songs, and organising fun games. The children were overjoyed to participate, making the day both joyful and memorable for everyone involved.

The programme was designed to sensitise students to the lives of children with special needs, emphasising the importance of supporting and including them in society. It served as an enriching experience, showcasing the vital role these children play in our community and the need for compassion and understanding.

The principal of the college, Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, appreciated the effort and acknowledged the significance of such initiatives in broadening the students' perspectives and nurturing their social responsibility. The programme was coordinated by Vidya Bhat, Dr Subbulakshmi N Karanth and Dr Deepika B V.
