Udupi, Dec 2: Amid growing controversy over his alleged call for amending the Constitution, Pejawar Math swamiji has broken his silence, firmly denying the remarks and accusing critics of spreading false claims.
In a strong rebuttal, Vishwa Prasanna Tirtha Swamiji clarified that he never advocated for constitutional changes, calling the accusations "baseless" and criticising the reactions as misguided.
Addressing the controversy, the Swamiji expressed his frustration at how false claims had been misinterpreted and blown out of proportion. He criticised the media and certain groups for spreading misleading information, which led to protests and unrest in society.
Speaking at a gathering, Vishwa Prasanna Tirtha Swamiji clarified, “I never called for changing the Constitution and such accusations are completely false,” he said, urging people to look at the original documents and videos for clarity.
He explained that during a meeting led by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Bengaluru, a written resolution was passed, but there was no mention of the Constitution in it.
The Pejawar Seer also took exception at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, expressing his disappointment with the CM's failure to clarify the issue responsibly. He stated that the chief minister should have reviewed the matter thoroughly before making any public statements, which could have avoided unnecessary confusion and division in society.
In his address, Vishwa Prasanna Tirtha Swamiji emphasised that such divisive actions are detrimental to the unity of society. He reiterated his longstanding commitment to social harmony and said that he has always worked towards uplifting the underprivileged, including initiatives like providing homes for the poor. "I have always promoted unity and love among all sections of society, and I have never indulged in any anti-Constitutional activity," he asserted.
Responding to the question of why he is being targeted, the Swamiji stated that the Hindu community cannot be reduced to a single voice or face, and that efforts to divide Hindus will not succeed. "The Hindu community is vast, and no one can diminish its strength or unity," he remarked.
The Pejawar Seer also raised concerns over the recent proposal to tax Hindu temples. He criticised the imposition of taxes on temples while other religious institutions remain exempt, calling it an unfair policy. He highlighted the financial difficulties faced by many temples, particularly in maintaining their infrastructure and supporting the priests. He urged the government to reconsider such policies and adopt a more equitable approach to all religious institutions.
Vishwa Prasanna Tirtha Swamiji appealed for a government that respects Hindu sentiments and works for the welfare of all citizens, stressing that such an approach would bring about true unity and harmony in society.

Wed, Dec 04 2024He's a very venerated seer and much loved for his equestrian skills as well as sambashane. He took the mantle from our previous Pejawar Sri who passed away. The Pejawar math is most prestigious and I hope Swamiji refrains from the muck of politics, to propagate the dharma.

Tue, Dec 03 2024The influence of self confessed non-biological man causing problems to his followers... , This situation shouldn't have come to Hindus most revered Swamiji.. The position of parama poojya swamiji's is eternally supreme (there is no need for them to refer or look to constitutional provisions for societal solutions.., instead they are bound to invoke Gods blessings on all, as it is depicted in ethos of Hinduism viz., - "Sarva dharma samabhava., vasudaiva kutumbakam, ahimsa paramo dharma".. it is as simple as that.

Tue, Dec 03 2024Followers should question and critically evaluate religious leaders(Hindus,Muslims,Christians.Sikhs), ensuring they align with the core values of spirituality. Many spiritual paths emphasize a personal relationship with the divine, bypassing intermediaries.Institutions and leaders should be held accountable to ethical and spiritual standards.Power dynamics and financial incentives come into play. Religion becomes a tool to control or influence large groups. The focus shifts from spiritual guidance to institutional survival or expansion What are your thoughts?

Mon, Dec 02 2024I thought that it was the prerogative of politicians to make a statement and later deny that they ever said such a thing. Now the Swamijis are also doing the same thing. These Gurus are becoming the Shishyas of the politicians!
