US Consumer Spending Goes Up in November


Washington, Dec 23 (IANS): US families slightly boosted their spending in November with their take-home income rising at a slow pace, authorities said Friday.

Real personal consumption expenditures (PCE), consumption after adjusting for inflation, gained 0.1 percent last month, advanced by consumption of durable goods, according to the report.

Personal income edged up 0.1 percent in November, lower than the gain of 0.4 percent in October, said the Commerce Department.

The US savings rate edged down to 3.5 percent in November from a revised 3.6 percent in October, reported Xinhua.
