The award was given in memory of Yakshagana humor artiste Rasikaratna Late Nayan Kumar.
During the event, Mangaluru-based sound and light coordinator Mohan and his wife were felicitated. Presiding over the event, Chandrashekhar Shetty, director of Mangaluru Sanatana Natyalaya, emphasized the significance of dance, music, Yakshagana, and bhajans in Indian culture. He highlighted how these art forms instill values and discipline in children, urging parents to ensure their children complete their training, perform on stage, and regularly visit temples.

He noted that both Late Nayan Kumar and Dr Erya Lakshmi Narayana Alva were legends in their respective fields. Nandalike commended the parents of classical dance participants for encouraging their children and advised parents to let their children choose careers aligned with their passions. He also urged public support for artistes, especially stage performers and comedians who bring joy to audiences.
Bantwal-based young entrepreneur Avinash Kamath remarked that the combination of music and dance creates unmatched grandeur. He stressed the importance of parental support for children and expressed his honor in participating in an event commemorating two great personalities.
