Mangaluru: YSAHS organizes 'Heartscape – 25'

Mangaluru, Jan 13: The Heartscape'25 was organized by the unit of cardiovascular and perfusion technology, Yenepoya School of Allied Health Sciences (YSAHS), at the Yendurance Zone, Yenepoya Deemed to be University, campus on the January 11. The event aimed to emphasize the critical role of new evidences in heart failure, while providing a platform for students and professionals to enhance their knowledge and skills.

The event was presided by Dr B H Sripathi Rao, hon pro vice chancellor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University). Dr Suresh G Rao, lead pediatric and congenital heart surgeon, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Medical Research Centre – Mumbai was the guest of honor, and Dr Jayashankar Marla, consultant cardio - thoracic surgeon, AJ Hospital & Research Centre – Mangaluru was the chief guest. Dr Sunita Saldanha, organizing chairperson, dean Yenepoya Allied & Healthcare professions. The faculties of the unit of cardiovascular and perfusion technology have extending unwavering support towards the success of this event.

The event held informative sessions with the recognized resource persons. The session on ‘Advances in cardiac resynchronization therapy: transforming heart failure management’ by Dr Mukund A Prabhu, associate professor, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Karnataka. The followed by a session by Dr Kumar K P, assistant professor department of cardiology, Yenepoya Medical College, Deralakatte, Karnataka on ‘Advancing insights into heart failure in ischemic heart diseases.’

The event began with a formal inaugural ceremony led by key dignitaries, including the presiding officer, chief guest, and guest of honor.

Participants of the oral presentation & posters showcased innovative ideas and findings through posters and oral presentations. The event was then followed by the valedictory and prize distribution for the competitions. The winners of the oral presentation Nihal Nazeer – YSAHS (first place), Akshay D – YSAHS (second place) and Mukesh Kumar from Tagore Institute of Allied Health Sciences one the (third place), and the winners of poster competition Vaishnavi Nayak, MS Ramiah Institute of allied health Sciences (first place), Chaitra Nayak, Kasturba Medical College, Mangaluru (second place), and Dr Dhurv Hejmadi, Kasturba Medical College, Mangaluru (third place) were felicitated during the programme

Heartscape'25 successfully highlighted the importance of cardiovascular technology and perfusion technology as a specialized field in healthcare, particularly in the treatment of heart failure and cardiovascular advancements. The event brought together professionals, students, and educators, providing an excellent platform for learning, collaboration, and professional growth.

The guest talks, oral presentations and poster competition were key highlights that contributed to the event's educational and interactive success. The programme was a huge success.
