Mubarak's Trial to be Held Every Day

Cairo, Jan 3 (IANS/RIA Novosti): Trial of Egypt's ex-president Hosni Mubarak, his sons and former interior minister will be held every day, Egyptian media reported.

Mubarak and his two sons Alaa and Gamal are charged with the shooting of peaceful protesters, money laundering and corruption. If convicted, Mubarak could face the death penalty.

The next hearings will take place over Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Mubarak was ousted Feb 11, 2011. Protests and unrest have continued throughout the last year.

Clashes between protesters and security forces killed more than 850 people.

Last Thursday, Cairo Criminal Court exonerated five policemen accused in the deadly shooting of protesters during the nationwide uprising, saying that policemen's actions were ruled self-defense.
