Bantwal, Jan 26: The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) Mangaluru rural district committee organized a massive protest march from Kaikamba to Brahmarakotlu toll gate on Friday, January 31 evening against the alleged mismanagement of the toll gate. The protest was led by district president Anwar Sadath Bajattur.

Addressing the gathering, SDPI Mangaluru rural district president Anwar Sadath Bajattur said, "The ruling government has failed to protect the interests of the people. For the past twelve years, people have been looted under the guise of toll collection without providing proper roads for smooth transportation. The toll fees have increased, yet basic facilities are not provided. Instead, North Indian Hindi-speaking goons are being deployed to intimidate people. If this unscientific and mismanaged toll gate is not removed, SDPI is ready to lead a united protest beyond party lines with the people of the district," he declared in anger.
SDPI Mangaluru city district president Jaleel K also expressed his outrage, stating, "If your intention is to exploit people through this unscientific and inadequate toll gate using intimidation, we will not allow it."
SDPI Mangaluru rural district vice president Munish Ali remarked, "This toll gate is not for public welfare but a business hub for certain capitalists and politicians. It has become a center for organized extortion."
