Bantwal, Feb 12: In response to a public complaint regarding the installation of iron rods and fencing in front of the taluk panchayat office, Bantwal MLA Rajesh U Naik visited the office unannounced on Wednesday morning to gather information and hold officials accountable.

The MLA questioned the officials about the installation of the iron fence, which was causing inconvenience to the public by obstructing the road and public space.

He asked the officials where the public should park their vehicles when visiting government offices and where vehicles should be parked for events held at Ambedkar Bhavan.

The MLA further inquired as to who had authorised the fencing of government land as if it were private property and took the officials to task for this decision.

Since Taluk Panchayat executive officer Sachin was on leave, he was contacted by phone. Sachin assured the MLA that he would visit the site personally to resolve the issue and take corrective measures.

Members of the public who were present during the MLA's visit shared their concerns about the dismissive remarks made by the officials regarding the fencing issue. Former GP member Tungappa Bangera and other prominent figures, including Dombayya Arala, were also present at the scene.
