Bantwal: International Women’s Day celebrated at Loreto Mata church

Bantwal, Mar 13: International Women’s Day was celebrated at Loreto Mata Church under the leadership of parish priest Fr Francis Crasta. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp.

Dr Sharon Rasquinha, a gynecologist and the chief guest as well as the resource person, provided valuable insights on women's health issues, necessary treatments for various ailments, a nutritious diet for overall well-being, and solutions to post-pregnancy health concerns. She explained these topics in a simple and meaningful manner.

In his address, Fr Francis Crasta highlighted the vital role of women in families and society. On this occasion, two women entrepreneurs were felicitated for their achievements.

The event was organized under the leadership of the church’s Women’s Commission, Education Commission, and Catholic Sabha. Hundreds of women participated and benefited from the program.

Present at the event were Fr Jason Monis, principal of Loreto English Medium CBSE School; Cyprian D’Souza, vice president of the church administration committee; Shaila Barboza, secretary; coordinators Prakash Vas and Sr Edoline Rodrigues, superior of Nirmala Convent; and Ryan Rodrigues, president of the Catholic Sabha.

Women’s Commission convener Sunita Crasta welcomed the gathering, while Education Commission coordinator Natalia D’Silva compered the program. The vote of thanks was delivered by Marlin Martis.
