Udupi quadruple murder case: Court dismisses accused plea to record witness examination

Udupi, Mar 23: The Udupi second Additional District and Sessions Court has rejected the petition filed by accused Praveen Chougule, seeking to record the audio and video of the witness examination in the case of the murder of a mother and her three children in Nejar.

Regarding the bank’s petition to take possession of the car used by the accused in the crime, as loan instalments were not paid, the court has reserved its final decision until the completion of the trial.

The special public prosecutor opposed handing over the car to the bank, arguing that if the bank sells it, it could hinder evidence examination.

Judge Samiulla has scheduled the next hearing for April 3, during which the dates for witness examination will be decided. In light of the trial, the accused, Praveen Chougule, who is lodged in Bengaluru jail, was presented before the court via video conference.
