Karnataka Congress Chief to be Shown the Door?

Bangalore, Jan 22: A change of guard for Congress party in Karnataka looks imminent, as the party high command is seriously considering giving the state leadership to one of the veteran leaders who is currently serving in the union cabinet.

Realising that the state may go for assembly election anytime during this year or early next year, the Congress high command leaders in New Delhi are carefully watching the current developments in BJP camp. While leaders are busy creating a successful formula in the five states where elections are due from next month, Karnataka too is considered to work under the same formula.

It is learnt that KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar was given a verbal hint while handing over the state Congress leadership to him that his stint as Karnataka Congress chief may be temporary, and that it would be changed according to the possibility of election on the state.

There are two important factors that have raised doubts about Dr Parameshwara's future - one, he was summoned by the high command last Wednesday to brief him about the decision of high command to change his guard; and two - Congress leaders in Delhi have asked Siddaramaiah to cut short his Australia trip and present himself in New Delhi by Monday January 23. Both these moves have been considered preparatory for leadership change. Amidst all this, Ghulam Nabi Azad, the central observer for Karnataka Congress paid a visit to the state a couple of days back to get the individual opinions of some senior leaders here in Bangalore, and is expected to submit his 'secret' report to the high command on Monday.

It is reliably learnt that there will be one prime candidate for KPCC president post, along with four working presidents. A leader from a strong community will be given the post of KPCC president. SM Krishna, Mallikarjuna Kharge, and K H Patil are the three seniormost leaders who can be considered for the resident's post. While Krishna belongs to Vokkaliga community, Patil is a Lingayat. Kharge has the opportunity due to his experience, but he belongs to backward community.

A calm, cool and highly educated Dr Parameshwar has been an efficient Congress leader, but reportedly he has little control over the senior members of the party in state.

Dr. Parameshwr is a clean person like opposition leader n next C. M. Candidate Siddramaya. Both could not do well not bcz of their capacities but bczof strong BJP trend in the state. But now it's vanished. In Belkary BJP lost deposit. If at all Dr. Has to be changed bring a honest clean Lingayat leader who can get support of Lingayats. Other casts are of no use bcz they are bowing their heads to these Lingayats and will vote to Lingayat candidates. All Swamijis are supporting Lingayats, it doesn't matter he is honest or corrupt. Yeddy is a living example. Despite corruption charges n pending court cases daily these Swamijis are meeting n comforting Yeddy. In congress only Munniyappa n Moily is working hard all other minister n MPs are waste. Good for nothing. S. M. Krishna should have resigned already. Honorable Mrs. Sonia Gandhi should have kicked him out.

I agree with you, Moily's contribution to the country especially in the fields of law.

He has done some excellent works when he was CM of state. Being a CM he contributed a lot to education, industries, tax reforms, farmers etc. He started ELECTRONICS CITY in Bangalore, today it is the largest techno hub in Asia. He started MANGALORE and GULBARGA Universities. He started SAMPOORNA SAKSHARATHA ANDOLANA to educate the elderly illiterate people. etc... etc..

But he has done nothing for state people after moving to central govt. He is believed to be very close and adviser for Sonia Gandhi. Just think the power he has !!! But he can't move a train in Mangalore JUNCTION to Mangalore CENTRAL.(forget sanctioning new train).

Do you know how many times he has spoken about inclusion of Tulu in 8th schedule? how many times he has spoken about giving classical status to kannada? how many times about giving IA status to MLR airport? how many times on starting new train service?

We are fed up because of his wrong promises always.

“Parameshwara” all “iz” not well in Karnataka Congress. He was highly determined to change the BJP Government in Karnataka instead Congress changed their own Guard now. When “Siddlu” went to Australia along with his few trusted hooligans it was imminent that everything was not OK and now its open to all

Congress keeps on changing the state president very frequently with no result.

There is no good leaders in congress.

    SM Krishna : outdated,farmers enemy
    Deshpande : Failed, no use
    Kharge : weak and waste
Dharm Sing : Outdated, utter waste
HK Patil : dumb, too old
    Poojary : already given
    Moily : Cast factor
    Oscar : Cast factor, waste
Muniyappa : Runs rails in mouth
    Siddu : CM candidate
Shivakumar : useless, Will not be accepted by old men

No leaders in congress, all are too old.

Congress will not be accepted by state people because of EXCELLENT CONTRIBUTION by CENTRAL UPA Govt in terms of Railways, Airports, supporting price for Agri products, development FUND, coal supply etc etc..

It can be recalled that in 2009 when Uttara Karnataka was affected by severe flood the relief amount released by UPA was very small, just Rs 1000 Crores plus. For Andra they released 3000 crores though the affected areas and loss were very very less compared to our state. Our people don't forget this discrimination..

UPA is not willing to give special status to Hyderabad-K'taka region. UPA failed to give classical status to Kannada and inclusion of Tulu, Kodava in 8th schedule.

Manmohan sing was invited for Vishwa Kannada Sammelana, he rejected. He was invited for Metro inauguration, he kept himself apart. He has no care for our state.

Only moily, krishna, Kharge are blowing their pungi here without doing any work..

The state congress leaders should have solved our problems with the help of their own central govt instead of playing blame game with ruling party. If done so, we people would have considered voting for them.

It will be a record for them if they win 60 seats in coming elections..

Dr S Kamath , Mumbai, I Agree with you. If S.M.Krishna is made KPCC President, it will not benifit to Congress because Vokkaliga votes will be devided between Congress & JDS & ultimately BJP will get the benifit. Congress High Command should appoint H.K.Patil or some other Lingayatha leader as KPCC President to get confidence from Powerful Lingayatha Community. S.M.Krishna is outdated leader for Karnataka Politics.

It appears that S M Krishna will be asked to resign from the Union Cabinet due to couuption charges and will be asked to take the position of KPCC president instead that is simple logic
