Washington, Jan 25 (IANS): US President Barack Obama has said that Americans have a huge opportunity to bring "manufacturing jobs back" to the country.
Obama said he would oppose "any effort to return to the very same policies that brought on this economic crisis in the first place".
"The state of our union is getting stronger, and we have come too far to turn back now," Obama said in his State of the Union speech to a joint session of Congress Tuesday night.
He said he would fight Republican obstruction in the Congress "with action", Xinhua reported.
The Republicans in the legislature are trying to roll back Wall Street oversight reform, which Obama signed into law in 2010 as a response to the financial crisis and recession that began in 2007.
