SMVITM organises UPSC sessions on ‘Awaken the administration within’

Udupi, Jun 4: Training and Placement Cell & Department of Basic Science in collaboration with the ISTE Student Chapter, Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, organized UPSC session by IAS Jnani on June 3 on the topic ‘Awaken the administrator within’.

The session was conducted by Vinayaka N Petlae and Madhunandan P Rao, founders and directors of IAS Jnani, who are well-known for mentoring hundreds of civil service aspirants.

Vinayaka N Petlae kickstarted the session with an inspiring talk on the importance of civil services in nation-building, explaining the power, prestige, and responsibility that comes with being an IAS officer. He shared real-life examples of IAS officers who made a remarkable difference in society, capturing the imagination of the students.

Madhunandan P Rao continued the session with practical insights on how to start UPSC preparation from college days, breaking down the exam pattern, preparation strategies, and mindset needed to succeed. He also worked through model questions, showing how to decode them logically and stressed the importance of reading newspapers, NCERTs, and consistency in preparation.

The interactive nature of the session, along with relatable anecdotes, kept the students thoroughly engaged. Many students expressed renewed interest in exploring careers in public service.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Roshan S Kotian, head, Training and Placement officer who appreciated the resource persons for their time and inspiration. He also acknowledged the support of the principal, deans, HoDs, and the enthusiastic participation of first-year students.
