Media Release

Bengaluru, Jun 5: On the World Environment Day, St Charles Women’s PU College showcased its commitment to sustainability with the theme ‘Greening the future.’ Students planted 50 varieties of seeds, medicinal herbs, and rare plants—symbolizing hope and healing for the earth. Over 1,300 students participated in the ‘Green challenge,’ adopting sustainable habits like using steel bottles, cloth and jute bags to reduce plastic. They also engaged nearby schools in spreading awareness against plastic pollution.

Vikas Brahmavar, director of Boson Whitewater, encouraged students to stay curious, happy, and giving back: “Aim high and contribute positively.” He emphasized the importance of water reuse, saying, “There’s no waste water—only wasted water. Reusing is vital for sustainability.”

With the unwavering support of Sr Reetha Varghese, provincial superior, Dr Sr Nancy Cutinho, principal, and Sr Elizabeth Leo, vice principal, the college reaffirms that environmental consciousness is not just a practice, but a lifelong value. Guided by its inspiring vision and core values, St Charles actively cultivates awareness, responsibility, and transformative action—nurturing future leaders to shape a greener, more sustainable world."
