Nairobi, Jun 10: In a tragic road accident in Kenya on Monday, June 9, at least five Indian nationals lost their lives and several others were injured after a tourist bus carrying 28 Indians from Qatar overturned in the Nyandarua region of northeastern Kenya.
According to reports, the group was on its way to Nyahururu Town and had planned to stay at the Panari Hotel. The bus, which had 32 people onboard including three tour guides and a driver, reportedly lost control on a rain-soaked stretch, veered off the road, rammed into a tree, and overturned.

Local residents rushed to the scene and helped rescue passengers trapped inside before emergency teams arrived. The injured were later taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The Indian High Commission in Nairobi reached the site soon after the incident and is extending all possible support to the victims. Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy in Qatar confirmed the incident in a post on X and stated that it is coordinating with Indian community organisations like ICC and ICBF in Doha.
“We extend our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have sadly passed away,” the embassy said in a statement.
