Udupi/Mangaluru, Aug 5: The ongoing strike by transport department employees has led to major disruptions in KSRTC bus services in Udupi on August 5, while services in Mangaluru continued as normal.

Although a few buses managed to depart from the Udupi depot, services arriving from other parts of the state were heavily affected. With only a limited number of buses in operation, the ones that did run were overcrowded with passengers.

No buses arrived from Bhatkal to Udupi. In the early hours, a few passengers were seen waiting at bus stands, but many had to return home due to the unavailability of timely services.

The strike has caused considerable inconvenience to daily commuters and inter-district travellers in Udupi, with uncertainty continuing over when full services will resume. Meanwhile, KSRTC operations in Mangaluru remained unaffected by the strike.
