Bantwal, Aug 22: Jossy Melwyn Veigas, a resident of Modankap, Bantwal, has been battling kidney disease for the past ten years. His long and painful treatment journey continues with thrice-weekly dialysis, leaving him and his family physically, emotionally, and financially drained.
Despite their best efforts, Jossy’s family is struggling in extreme poverty. They have already borrowed money from relatives, friends, and well-wishers, and also received charitable support. Yet, the burden of ongoing medical expenses continues to grow.
Their hardships worsened recently when heavy rains triggered a landslide that severely damaged their house, filling it with mud and leaving them without a safe place to live. Jossy now resides with his wife and young son, with no stable source of income to sustain his medical treatment or his family’s basic needs.
