Kasargod, Sep 24: In a tragic turn of events, an auto driver, upset over a road mishap involving school students, ended his life by consuming acid at Bedadka on September 23 evening.
The deceased has been identified as K Aneesh (40), a resident of Pallanji.
On Tuesday evening, Aneesh was ferrying a group of Plus-One students from Baithurpara Government Higher Secondary School towards Pallanji when a speeding car lost control and rammed into the rear of his auto. Due to the impact, the vehicle overturned, leaving three students seriously injured.

Shocked and disheartened by the incident, Aneesh reportedly consumed acid that was kept inside his auto and walked towards a deserted spot.
Locals, who noticed his critical condition, immediately shifted him to Kasargod General Hospital. As his health deteriorated, he was moved to a private hospital in Mangaluru. Despite medical efforts, he breathed his last on Wednesday, September 24 morning.
The injured students are currently receiving treatment at a Kasargod hospital. Bedadka police have registered a case in connection with the incident.
