CM Pramod Sawant to head panel for boosting Goa’s ease of doing business, ease of living

Panaji, Oct 10: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will lead a high-level committee set up to identify and implement key reforms aimed at improving Goa’s ranking in national and international Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) and Ease of Living (EoL) indices.

According to a notification issued by the Industries Department, the 37-member committee will focus on simplifying regulatory procedures, reducing compliance burdens, and fostering a more investor-friendly environment in the state.

“The Committee will also review citizen-centric services with the objective of ensuring time-bound, transparent, and hassle-free delivery under the EoL framework,” the notification stated.

Apart from monitoring the progress of reform measures, the panel will resolve inter-departmental issues, ensure departmental accountability, and drive initiatives to strengthen both EoDB and EoL mechanisms.

The committee includes the Ministers for Industries, Revenue, Town and Country Planning, and Factories and Boilers, along with the Chief Secretary and other senior officials.

Representatives from leading industry bodies such as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Goa State Industries Association (GSIA), Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG), Laghu Udyog Bharati, Business Network International, ASSOCHAM, and the Goa Technology Association (GTA) will serve as special invitees.
