Jalandhar, Oct 11: Renowned professional bodybuilder and actor Varinder Singh Ghuman passed away on Thursday following a heart attack, his family confirmed. The 41-year-old was receiving treatment for shoulder pain at a private hospital in Amritsar when he suffered the fatal attack, according to his nephew Amanjot Singh Ghuman.
Ghuman, a Mr India 2009 winner and second-place finisher in the Mr Asia pageant, had also made his mark in the film industry. He appeared in Salman Khan’s Tiger-3 (2023) and acted in Hindi films like Roar: Tigers of Sundarbans (2014) and Marjaavan (2019), as well as the Punjabi film Kabaddi Once Again (2012).

A native of Gurdaspur and resident of Jalandhar, Ghuman owned a gym and was widely recognised as a vegetarian bodybuilder who passionately promoted fitness on social media. Standing 6 feet 2 inches tall, he had also expressed intentions to contest the Punjab Assembly polls in 2027.
His sudden demise has drawn condolences from politicians across party lines, remembering him for his achievements in sports, cinema, and fitness advocacy.
