Anjuna, Oct 11: Anjuna Police have registered a case against a local resident for allegedly hurting religious sentiments through a social media post linking a techno party with a Sunday Mass.

The complaint was lodged by Fr Marcelino De Souza, parish priest of St Anthony Church, Vagator. He stated that Vijay Arora (45) of Casa Del Sol Apartments, Anjuna, had posted an advertisement promoting a party that read: “Saturday Night–Sunday Morning dropping proper techno sounds @ noise.goa alongside the Sunday morning mass… say HALELUJAH.”

The priest alleged that the post was deliberate and hurt the religious feelings of the Christian community. Based on the complaint, police registered an offence under relevant sections of law and served Arora a notice under Section 35(3) of BNSS.
