Mangaluru, Nov 5: The nursery students of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, joyfully stepped into the fascinating world of colours, shapes and numbers through a series of creative and fun-filled activities.
The day began with a prayer and a melodious prayer song, setting a cheerful and positive tone for the session. The young learners then engaged in a variety of hands-on experiences designed to make learning both meaningful and enjoyable.
Using vibrant primary colours - red, blue, green and yellow, the children sorted coloured stones into separate bowls, showcasing their growing ability to recognise and categorise colours. Their excitement was evident as they eagerly identified and matched each hue.

As they stepped into the nature, the children joyfully spotted these colours in different plants and flowers around them, and enjoyed the beauty of nature all around, connecting the classroom learning with the world outside.
Threading colourful beads kept their little hands busy, helping them strengthen fine motor skills and improve hand-eye coordination. Their curiosity and enthusiasm made the activity even more delightful.
Next came the world of shapes! The children sorted circles, triangles and squares into corresponding bowls, building problem-solving skills and spatial awareness. They also played shape and colour-matching games, which reinforced what they had learned in a joyful and interactive way.
These fun-filled activities not only engaged the young minds but also nurtured essential early learning skills, from colour and shape recognition to coordination and problem-solving, all while ensuring that learning remained a happy adventure for the little explorers of Mount Carmel.
