Bengaluru, Nov 9: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday asserted that the state government has directly injected Rs 1 lac crore into the pockets of the people over the last two years, calling the BJP 'the masters of lies' for spreading falsehoods to voters.
Speaking after inaugurating a water-filling project for 74 lakes in the Kudligi Assembly constituency and laying the foundation for several development works, the chief minister said, “While we act as we speak and channel funds directly to the people, the BJP, who have made falsehood their household deity, shamelessly distribute lies to the state’s citizens. The BJP, the master of untruths, is now publicly exposed. They have sunk to the depths of vote-driven deceit.”

On the contentious issue of FRP (fair and remunerative price) and MSP (minimum support price), he criticised the central BJP government, saying, “The betrayal of sugarcane farmers was orchestrated by Prahlad Joshi. Yet, Vijendra travels to Belagavi to stage protests, ignoring the fact that the central government cheated our farmers. Despite this, the state government stepped in with additional funds to safeguard our sugarcane growers.”
He also lauded local representatives, stating, “MLA Srinivas and MP Tukaram are entirely committed to public welfare. I thank the people for electing them. These leaders belong to you; protect them as your own property.”
Highlighting achievements in Kudligi, Siddaramaiah added, “The people of Kudligi are fortunate to have MLA Srinivas, who has successfully provided drinking water to 1,70,000 residents and boosted groundwater levels. He has transformed barren lands into fertile green fields, propelling development across the constituency.”
He underlined the government’s pro-development approach, noting, “In the past two years, over Rs 1,750 crore has been invested in various development projects in Kudligi. As promised during elections, all five guaranteed schemes have been implemented. Every month, government guarantees reach citizens’ doorsteps. Benefits of the Gruha Lakshmi and Gruha Jyothi schemes are now reaching 1.2 crore households across Karnataka.”
