Udupi, Nov 14: A case has been filed after the body of a 16-year-old boy, Shreeshan Shetty, was found in the Madisalu stream near Kukkundi Holebagilu on November 10 at around 4 pm. The boy’s father, Karunakara Shetty of Ananthapadmanabha Nilaya, Kukkunjaru in Perdur, has lodged a complaint expressing suspicion regarding his son’s death.

According to the complaint, Shreeshan, a class 10 student of Hiriyadka Government High School, had gone with his father to Perdur on November 9 at 12:15 pm. From there, he proceeded to his grandmother’s house in Alangaar. Later, he called his father from his grandmother’s mobile phone, informing him that he was going to play near a nearby river. However, when he did not return home even by 3 pm, the family searched for him in the surrounding areas but could not trace him.

The complaint further states that someone might have lured or deceived the boy and kidnapped him. It also mentions that he might have gone with a person named Naveen.

Shreeshan’s body was found the next day in the Madisalu stream. A post-mortem examination was conducted at Manipal Hospital. A case had already been registered at Hiriyadka police station. As stated in the complaint, police have questioned an individual named Naveen.

Police have said that further action will be taken if any clues emerge after receiving the death report from KMC Manipal and the FSL report.

Please check if the boy is sexually abused or something. No kids are safe in our country.
