Udupi, Nov 27: A fire broke out at the private restaurant located beside RSB Hall in Manipal on Thursday evening after a short circuit led to a blaze that triggered the explosion of two gas cylinders inside the establishment.

The fire quickly spread to the adjacent shop, causing significant damage. A car parked near the restaurant was also damaged, and the neighbouring hotel was impacted by the force of the blast. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Fire and Emergency Services personnel rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, successfully preventing the flames from spreading to nearby buildings.

Udupi SP Hariram Shankar clarified that the incident was caused by a short circuit inside the Delhi Dhaba restaurant and confirmed that both the fire department and police have inspected the site. “There is no suspicion. I am giving this clarification so that no rumours spread. No one was injured,” he said.
