Udupi, Dec 1: Even before the public could recover from the serious accident in Kaup taluk on Sunday that claimed five lives, another chain collision occurred just a short distance away, creating panic among locals. The series of accidents took place as vehicles were travelling from Katapady towards Shirva.

Near Kurkalu, a car suddenly swerved to the right, causing two other cars approaching from behind to collide. In total, three cars were damaged in the mishap, and several occupants sustained minor injuries. The incident took place late on Sunday night, November 30.

With multiple temple festivals and local events being held in the area on Sunday, traffic density on the route was unusually high, contributing to the situation.
