Mangaluru: Two inter-state thieves arrested in two-wheeler theft case

Mangaluru, Dec 1: City police have arrested two inter-state thieves in connection with the theft of two two-wheelers that had been parked near Naguri and the Jappinamogaru temple.

The arrested accused are Alex Dominic (25) of Ottathai, Vellad in Kerala and Amal Krishna (25) of Kurachoor, Calicut.

On November 14, the accused had arrived in Mangaluru to meet friends and were roaming around the Mangaluru Junction railway station area. They later stole a scooter parked near the Naguri bus stop and another scooter parked near the Adimaya Temple in Jappinamogaru. Police said the accused used the direct-connection method to steal the vehicles without keys. A case had been registered in Kankanady City Police Station.

During investigation, police identified the accused. Acting on information that they were returning to Mangaluru on November 30, the police apprehended them.

Two scooters and two mobile phones used in the crime have been seized from the accused. The total value of the recovered property is estimated at Rs 1,23,000.
