Udupi: Man dies after cobra bite in Kutyaru

Udupi, Dec 7: A plantation worker died after he was bitten by a cobra while at work in Kutyaru village.

The victim, Surendra Kittu Poojary, 54, had been overseeing and maintaining a plantation belonging to a local resident for the past six years. On December 5, at around 10 am, he went to the plantation to spray pesticide on arecanut trees when a cobra bit him.

He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Kinnigoli, but doctors there confirmed that Surendra Poojary had died on the way.

Based on a complaint filed by his son, Kiran S, a case has been registered at Shirva police station.

    Very sad.Before taking him to hospital which may take time to spread venum fast should have bind a tight bandage on thigh above where bitten .May the soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathies to his family.
