Mangaluru, Dec 9: In a dramatic turn of events just two days before his wedding, a 32-year-old man went missing along with a car, later found to have travelled to Chennai.

The missing individual has been identified as Rakshan J K (32), a resident of Arakerebailu in Jeppu Market. On December 6, at around 11.30 am, Rakshan left home in his mother’s Celerio car to distribute his wedding invitation cards to relatives and friends. However, he neither returned home nor visited any relative’s house. His mobile also remained unreachable, causing concern among family members.

On Saturday afternoon, Rakshan called his mother, informing her that he would return home within half an hour, but he did not. He also did not check his messages. Notably, Rakshan’s mehendi ceremony was scheduled for Sunday evening.

At around 10.30 pm on December 6, the car he had taken was found parked near the City Corporation building in Mangaluru, locked and unattended.

According to family members, Rakshan had earlier expressed that he was not interested in the wedding. Despite this, preparations for the marriage were underway. In the midst of this, he went missing from home and reportedly boarded a Saturday afternoon train to Chennai. On Monday, he answered a phone call and confirmed that he was in Chennai. Police subsequently tracked his location, which indeed showed him in the city.

Efforts are now underway to bring Rakshan back to Mangaluru. A case has been registered at Pandeshwar police station.

Real LOVE is required for any marriage to last till the end. It is not a joke, two completely different people coming together to live as one united body. Lots and lots of sacrifices required for a successful marriage. Marriage is a lifelong commitment in good & bad, health & illness and so on. Be matured while getting married so that there will be real joy and fulfilment. Thank you and God bless each and every one of us.

We should not force people into forced marriage if they are not interested otherwise people will take drastic action. I also was forced to marry but I was gay and not interested in women. So my marriage did not work out and we got separated. That is why now I think it is better follow the bride and groom wishes.
