Puttur, Dec 10: The youth of St Alphonsa Church, Nellyadi, have created a remarkable 42-foot-tall Christmas star, setting a new record and bringing pride to the region.

The SMYM youth group of St Alphonsa Church in Nellyadi, Puttur taluk, crafted what is now recognised as the tallest and largest Christmas star in Dakshina Kannada (DK) this festive season. Standing at an impressive 42 feet, the star has earned the distinction of being the highest Christmas star in the district.

Reflecting unity, eco-friendly decoration and harmony, the design of the star carries a meaningful message along with its sheer visual appeal.

This massive Christmas star is the result of dedicated effort by the youth of St Alphonsa Church, guided by Fr Shaji Mathew and Fr Alex Johnson. Every night, visitors from various places flock to Nellyadi to witness the spectacular display.
