Mangaluru: Bike theft accused arrested, vehicle recovered

Kankanady Town police have arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with a bike theft case reported under their jurisdiction.

The accused has been identified as Ibrahim alias Monu, son of the late Mayabba, a resident of Ashraya Colony near Sri Durga Parameshwari Temple, 3rd Block, Katipalla, Idya Surathkal.

According to police, the accused allegedly stole a Yamaha FZ bike (KA-19-ED-0237) on December 8 after roaming around the Pumpwell area with the intention of committing theft. The bike was reportedly parked at V Care Garage along the Ekkur National Highway, from where it was taken away by direct wiring.

Based on a complaint, a case was registered at Kankanady Town police station under Crime No. 178/2025 for offences punishable under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The accused was arrested on December 12, and the stolen Yamaha FZ bike along with a mobile phone used in the offence was recovered. The estimated value of the seized property is around Rs 26,000.

He was produced before the court and has been remanded to judicial custody.

    I am Das mangalore,There are x congress voter ,who dont steal anything from others.Even other party voter dont.Its parents duty to ask where do you that money from without working?

    Free Bhagya scheme? Please. He was waiting for his ₹15 lakhs from BJP. When that mythical amount failed to materialize, frustration took over and theft became the backup plan. Sad state of affairs.
