Udupi: Pedestrian killed after being hit by bike near Padubidri

Udupi, Dec 17: A pedestrian lost his life after being hit by a motorcycle while crossing the road on National Highway 66 near Satyam Bar at Tenka Ermal near Padubidri.

The deceased has been identified as Annayya Bangera (67), a resident of Tenka Ermal.

The accident reportedly occurred when Hasan, a native of Badami, was riding from Kaup towards Surathkal and hit Annayya Bangera as he was crossing the highway. Annayya Bangera sustained serious injuries and succumbed to them. The biker Hasan also suffered severe injuries in the mishap.

Social activists K M Siraj, Hameed and Jalaluddin arranged to shift the injured in an SDPI ambulance from Ucchila to a hospital in Udupi. Padubidri police rushed to the spot and are conducting an investigation.

    Very sad .Nowadays almost we hear lot of accidents in Padubidri and deaths.Is there no ampels so that pedastrians cross or any vehicles to stop?:Who was here at fault?Pedastrian or bikerider?May his soul rest i peace.Heartfelt sympathies to family.No day passes by without hearing someone met with accident and died.How sad.
