Job promise scam leaves Mangaluru youth in daily wage work in Armenia

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Dec 19: Alleging that they were cheated after being lured with promises of a high-paying job, three youths have lodged complaints at the Bajpe and Kadri police stations, stating that they were taken to Armenia on false assurances of employment.

The complainants have been identified as Manjunath Naik, Umesh from B C Road, and Gagan from Yeyyadi. After returning from Armenia on December 4, the victims approached the police and filed complaints detailing the alleged fraud.

According to the complaint, a person identified as Rakesh Rai, known to them, assured the youths that there were job opportunities in Armenia and that he would secure them employment in an American company. Trusting his claims, the victims paid Rs 2.25 lac, following which visiting visas were arranged for them. They travelled to Armenia on October 8.

Upon arrival, Rakesh, along with two others, received them at the airport and arranged accommodation in a rented room. However, even after a week, no job was provided. The persons who had brought them to Armenia allegedly showed no concern for them and failed to arrange employment. Left with no alternative and in need of money, the youths were eventually forced to take up daily wage work there.

The complainants further stated that they later realised Armenia was poorer than India. They somehow managed to escape the situation and return home. They said they had left decent jobs in India, hoping to earn a salary running into lacs as promised.

They also stated that a visiting visa permits only a 21-day stay, but they had overstayed and were fined. As they did not have money to pay the fine, they were made to give a written undertaking stating that they would not return. They were also reportedly banned, which, Manjunath Naik stated in his complaint, could create problems for them while travelling to other countries in the future.

Police have taken up the matter for further investigation.

People try their luck/chance to go abroad and earn /save and build their future within a decade. whereas remaining in hometown once return. and majorities have achieved their Goal. How many Million people are presently employed in GCC countries and elsewhere. ? Some guy’s envy others uplifting in life. Those who are within the country let them be. Many working class people believe they can earn there more than i India. In fact the labourers are cheated by agents who cash the money and let the workers in rain and Police custody.Only thing one can do is assure the work visa first in hand and type of work you have to do ,payment list and a stamp on their visa from consulate. These things are very important before you stepdown to travel.Without this stay at home and work at home where you earn more money than the so called foreign money.Exactly thats what I wrote in Daiji yesterday.Students are coming here from India to study sent from agents where they have no stay high rent for one room with bedwhere three sleep.Their study too is not valued.Pagdiwalas are sending. When studies finished not valid. To work they have to pay first 500Euros which is illegal according to rules. Many students protested in Berlin about their harassment.Such agents are not to find .They disappear after money and give some village peoples from neighbour countries as agents.Be careful

Searching for jobs abroad during Amrit Kaal is so outdated. Real patriots survive on hope, not salaries.

Everyone dreams of earning a better salary and building a successful life. But going abroad on a visit visa is never a wise decision for employment purposes. A visit visa is meant only for travel, not work. If someone truly wants to work abroad, they must secure an employment visa with a proper contract and verified job terms. Unfortunately, job-promise scams continue to trap innocent people

Why people leave the country of where shortage of labourers in our country. We have only jobs and development. Coconut plucking will give good salary and coolie job will give salary plus 3 time food. Now dollar is so cheap 90 Rs we can get before only 60. Now people can have 90 daily and do daily wages. Why going to other countries, visiting other countries will be done by iswaguru.
